US Dollar Declines Across Egyptian Banks in Early Sunday Trading

The US Dollar recorded a noticeable decline during early trading on Sunday, May 3, 2026, across Egypt’s banking sector, signaling a modest easing compared to previous levels.

The lowest exchange rates at the start of the session were observed at Egyptian Gulf Bank, Emirates NBD Egypt, and Arab Egyptian Real Estate Bank. At Egyptian Gulf Bank, the dollar traded at EGP 52.97 for buying and EGP 53.07 for selling. Meanwhile, Emirates NBD Egypt recorded EGP 53.39 (buy) and EGP 53.49 (sell), while the Arab Egyptian Real Estate Bank posted EGP 53.45 (buy) and EGP 53.55 (sell).

In the same context, several major banks reported similarly lower-tier pricing. The Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt quoted the dollar at EGP 53.46 for buying and EGP 53.56 for selling, while Bank of Alexandria and Commercial International Bank (Egypt) both recorded EGP 53.47 (buy) and EGP 53.57 (sell).

The relatively narrow spread across leading banks reflects a synchronized, mild downward trend in the US dollar against the Egyptian pound, suggesting stable but slightly easing market conditions.
