Banking Sector Stocks Show Mixed Performance at Thursday’s Trading Open
Banking sector stocks listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed mixed performance at the start of trading on Thursday, with the Export Development Bank of Egypt leading the gainers.
The bank’s stock rose 0.46% to EGP 21.90, with trading worth approximately EGP 7.443 million on 336,000 shares.
The Egyptian Gulf Bank followed, gaining 0.19% to reach $0.520, with trades valued at around EGP 714,617 on 26,771 shares.
Meanwhile, Commercial International Bank (CIB) Egypt declined 0.18% to EGP 127.87, recording trading worth approximately EGP 62.397 million through 487,460 shares.
Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt’s stock, denominated in Egyptian pounds, fell 1.01% to EGP 46.10, with trading valued at about EGP 784,181.
Suez Canal Bank declined 1.05% to EGP 45.45, while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Egypt fell 1.29% to EGP 51.15.
Housing and Development Bank dropped 1.50% to EGP 110.32, followed by Al Baraka Bank Egypt, which declined 2.32% to EGP 24.00.
QNB Egypt recorded the largest decline among the listed banking stocks, falling 2.64% to EGP 61.17.
Three banking stocks remained unchanged at the opening of trading: Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt’s US dollar-denominated shares, Al Ahli United? Wait — correction: United Bank, and Crédit Agricole Egypt.
