Egypt’s Banking Sector Index Falls 0.13% at Start of Tuesday’s Trading Session
The banking sector index of companies listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) declined by 0.13% during the opening of Tuesday’s trading session, reaching 5,856 points.
The banking sector recorded morning trading values of approximately EGP 30.039 million, accounting for 2.19% of the EGX’s total trading value. Around 737,515 shares were traded, representing 0.27% of the total number of shares traded on the exchange.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s main stock market indices moved higher at the start of Tuesday’s session. The EGX30 rose 0.18% to 55,092 points, while the EGX70 index, which tracks small- and mid-cap companies, increased 0.87% to 20,658 points. The EGX100 advanced 0.71% to 27,190 points.
