Bokra and HC Partner to Launch Sharia-Compliant Cash Fund with Daily Returns in Egypt

HC Securities & Investment has partnered with digital savings platform Bokra to establish a Sharia-compliant money market fund offering daily accumulated returns, as both companies seek to broaden access to Islamic investment products in Egypt.

The Bokra–HC fund will combine HC's institutional investment management capabilities with Bokra's digital distribution network, allowing investors to access the product through both digital and traditional investment channels.

A New Digital Route to Sharia-Compliant Investments

Hussein Shoukry, Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of HC Securities & Investment, said the initiative is designed to address the growing demand for investment products that offer Islamic Sharia compliance, daily liquidity, and convenient access through digital platforms.

He noted that the fund brings these features together in one investment product, supported by HC's experience in managing assets and investment portfolios.

Professional Management and Multiple Access Channels

HC's asset management division will be responsible for managing the fund's portfolio, while HC Securities & Bonds Trading and Bokra will facilitate subscription, purchase, and redemption transactions.

The fund will also be available through other brokerage firms and banks, giving investors additional ways to access its services.

Its portfolio will include short-term Sharia-compliant instruments such as sukuk and deposits with Islamic banks, alongside other investments approved by the relevant Sharia committee.

The daily accumulated return will be reflected in the fund's net asset value, with no fixed or guaranteed return rate, as performance will depend on the underlying investments.

Bokra Expands Its Savings and Investment Offerings

Ayman El-Sawy, Founder and CEO of Bokra, said the platform is working to expand access to Islamic savings and investment products while channeling individual savings into regulated financial instruments.

He stated that the platform facilitated approximately EGP 3 billion in sukuk investments over the past year, while also introducing a gold investment fund that ranked among the leading funds in terms of distributed returns for two consecutive quarters, according to the company's second-quarter assessment.

18 Regulatory Licenses Strengthen Platform Operations

El-Sawy revealed that Bokra has secured 18 regulatory licenses since launching in April 2023, reflecting its focus on operating within approved regulatory frameworks and strengthening the security of its financial products and transactions.

He added that the partnership with HC reflects the value of combining established investment management expertise with digital financial services.

Sharia Oversight Shapes Investment Strategy

The new fund underwent several rounds of review with Sharia committees, resulting in adjustments to its investment structure to ensure compliance with Islamic investment requirements.

The initiative is intended to give customers broader investment choices while strengthening the availability of regulated, Sharia-compliant financial products in Egypt.
