Egyptian Banking Stocks Post Mixed Performance on the EGX

Egyptian banking stocks recorded mixed performance at the close of Monday’s trading session, with Al Baraka Bank Egypt leading the gainers after its share price rose 5.02% to EGP 25.50.

The bank’s stock recorded trading values of around EGP 172.02 million, with approximately 6.73 million shares changing hands.

Egyptian Export Development Bank followed, with its shares increasing 2.9% to EGP 21.97, supported by trading worth EGP 74.66 million and a volume of around 3.41 million shares.

Egyptian Gulf Bank also advanced 1% to $0.505, with trading value reaching approximately $2.74 million. Meanwhile, Suez Canal Bank gained 0.47% to close at EGP 47.24, with trades worth around EGP 52.19 million.

On the other hand, several banking stocks ended the session lower. Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt’s dollar-denominated shares declined 0.30% to $0.987, while Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell 0.41% to EGP 133.14.

Credit Agricole Egypt dropped 1.22% to EGP 25.18, while Faisal Islamic Bank’s Egyptian pound-denominated shares declined 1.49% to EGP 46.89.
