Visa Enables Acceptance of UAE”s National ”Jaywan” Cards via Its Digital Acceptance Platform
Visa has announced support for UAE’s national "Jaywan" cards (debit, credit, and prepaid) across its Payment Acceptance Platform in the UAE. This enables merchants and payment service providers to offer Jaywan as a primary payment option for online transactions.
Strengthening the UAE’s Digital Commerce Ecosystem
Managed by Ethihad Payments, the "Jaywan" national card scheme gains broader integration through this rollout, allowing local card acceptance across a wide range of digital commerce use cases.
Secure Solutions and Support for Recurring Payments
Visa’s Payment Acceptance Platform combines acceptance, authentication, and tokenization capabilities into a single framework. The service supports card-on-file transactions, subscriptions, recurring payments, and digital wallets through network token management technologies.
Expanding a Strategic Partnership
This milestone builds on the March 2025 collaboration between Etihad Payments and Visa to issue co-badged "Jaywan-Visa" cards. Andrea Cianchetti, Chief Product Officer at Etihad Payments, emphasized that this step embeds the national scheme into the digital commerce infrastructure, while Fadi Moghaddem, Visa's Country Manager for the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar, highlighted its role in expanding payment options and delivering safe, reliable experiences.
