e& UAE is developing “Ranna,” a secure communications solution in collaboration with the UAE Cybersecurity Council, as part of efforts to strengthen the protection of institutional communications.

The solution is being designed and hosted entirely in the UAE and combines multiple security features within a scalable architecture that can expand as organisations’ operational and digital transformation needs grow.

The prototype is currently undergoing testing to assess its ability to provide secure communications for organisations. It is hosted within e& UAE’s data centres in the country while taking into account relevant regulatory and security requirements.

Ranna is designed for government entities, institutions and medium-sized and large businesses seeking to strengthen the security of their communications. The solution also targets IT, cybersecurity and digital transformation decision-makers looking for locally developed technologies that can support secure collaboration and future digital initiatives.

Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, said developing national capabilities in secure communications is important for strengthening the UAE’s digital resilience and supporting the secure growth of its digital economy.

He added that the collaboration with e& UAE brings together national expertise to explore how locally developed and hosted technologies can address changing operational and security requirements.
