The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has announced its active participation in the "Update Your Data in Egypt" initiative. Launched by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs, the initiative is designed to streamline the process of updating banking information for Egyptians residing abroad.

The service will be facilitated through Egyptian embassies and consulates across several Arab and foreign nations, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, among others.

Aligning with State Vision

Mohamed El-Etreby, Chief Executive Officer of NBE, stated that this initiative aligns seamlessly with the CBE's directives to facilitate banking services for Egyptian expatriates. He emphasized that the move reflects the broader vision of the Egyptian state, which aims to strengthen communication with its citizens abroad and continuously upgrade the services provided to them.

El-Etreby added that the initiative grants expats the ability to update their banking records easily and efficiently by visiting Egyptian embassies and consulates in participating countries. The process requires only a valid national ID card or a valid passport, ensuring a simplified and rapid procedure.

Secure and Uninterrupted Services

Soha El-Turky, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NBE, highlighted that the initiative allows customers to update their data in a highly secure manner, thereby guaranteeing the uninterrupted provision of the bank's products and services.

She noted that updated records enable customers to seamlessly subscribe to internet banking services. These digital platforms empower users to execute a wide array of financial transactions, including balance inquiries, money transfers, and the purchasing or redeeming of savings certificates and investment funds. Additionally, customers can opt into the electronic bank statement service completely free of charge.

Strategic Expansion

El-Turky stressed that this initiative falls under NBE’s comprehensive strategy to expand the delivery of advanced banking services that cater to the evolving needs of customers both inside and outside Egypt. By keeping pace with global advancements in the financial sector, the bank aims to deepen the connection between Egyptian expatriates and their national banking system.

Customers are encouraged to visit the nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate in the countries covered by the initiative to update their information smoothly and securely. Full details regarding the service, along with the applicable terms and conditions, are readily available on the National Bank of Egypt's official website.
