The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has signed a cooperation protocol with Ahl Masr Hospital for Burns Treatment to support the establishment and equipping of the Adult Intensive Care Unit (Adult ICU) by financing finishing works, electromechanical installations, and the procurement of advanced medical equipment. The initiative aims to strengthen the hospital's capacity to provide free, specialized treatment for burn victims as part of the bank's ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and its commitment to supporting Egypt's healthcare sector.

Mohamed El-Etreby, Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Egypt, said the bank places great importance on supporting healthcare initiatives that enhance the quality of specialized medical services, particularly in challenging fields such as burn treatment. He noted that the partnership with Ahl Masr Hospital builds on the bank's longstanding support for the institution and reflects its continued commitment to expanding access to advanced, free healthcare services.

El-Etreby added that supporting the Adult ICU will increase the hospital's treatment capacity, enabling it to save more lives while creating a sustainable social impact that benefits the Egyptian community.

For her part, Dina Abu Taleb, Head of Marketing and Community Development at the National Bank of Egypt, said the new protocol extends the bank's previous contributions to Ahl Masr Hospital, including financing the construction of the hospital's ground floor, which houses the emergency department, outpatient laboratories, radiology unit, pharmacy, and helipad for air ambulance services.

She added that the bank is contributing EGP 54 million to finance the finishing works and electromechanical systems for the Adult ICU, which includes 14 intensive care rooms, in addition to EGP 72 million to purchase the medical equipment and devices required to operate the unit. The bank's total contribution of EGP 126 million will significantly enhance the hospital's ability to receive more critical burn cases and provide high-quality medical care free of charge.

Meanwhile, Dr. Heba El Sewedy, Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Ahl Masr Foundation and Ahl Masr Hospital for Burns Treatment, expressed her appreciation for the National Bank of Egypt's continued support. She emphasized that collaboration with leading national institutions is essential to enabling the hospital to continue providing free, specialized treatment for burn patients in line with the highest medical standards.

She added that the new support will expand the hospital's capacity to treat critically injured patients and underscores the importance of partnerships between civil society organizations and the banking sector in strengthening healthcare services and creating a lasting positive impact on the lives of patients and their families.
