Ezz El Arab El Sewedy Partners with ROX Motor to Establish ”ROX Egypt” for Local REEV Automotive Assembly

Minister of Industry, Eng. Khaled Hashem, witnessed the signing of a landmark agreement between Ezz El Arab El Sewedy Industrial Investment Group and global automotive manufacturer ROX Motor. The partnership establishes "ROX Egypt," paving the way for the local manufacturing of ROX Range Extended Electric Vehicles (REEV) at Ezz El Arab El Sewedy’s domestic plants.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Jarvis Yan, Founder and CEO of ROX Motor; Eng. Hisham Ezz El Arab, Chairman of Ezz El Arab El Sewedy Industrial Investment; and Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy, Founder and Partner of the group.

Minister Hashem emphasized that this agreement represents a tangible milestone for Egypt's National Automotive Manufacturing Strategy, noting that the country's investment climate is undergoing a fundamental transformation. He stated that Egypt has transitioned from pitching visions to global brands to a fruitful harvest phase, evidenced by the influx of major multinational corporations driving direct foreign investments and building concrete domestic partnerships backed by robust infrastructure.

Hashem pointed out that the project fully aligns with the state's mandate to localize domestic heavy industry. The government is focusing heavily on value-added industrial sectors, spearheaded by clean-energy and electric vehicles (EVs).

The Minister added that the automotive sector remains a top priority under the National Program for Automotive Development, which targets a domestic production volume of 100,000 vehicles by 2030. To support this goal, the state provides an integrated package of investment incentives and facilities to deepen local component sourcing and elevate manufacturing competitiveness.

Hashem concluded by urging the newly formed venture to outline a clear roadmap for increasing local component percentages in tandem with factory expansions, thereby accelerating advanced technology transfer, fulfilling local market demand, and boosting Egypt's outbound export capacities in global markets.
