Botim Launches UAE’s First Fintech-Issued Jaywan Prepaid Card
UAE-based fintech platform Botim has launched the Botim One Jaywan Prepaid Card, becoming the first fintech company in the UAE to issue a prepaid card under the country’s national Jaywan payment scheme.
Jaywan is operated by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE. The launch represents a new step in the expansion of digital payment solutions across the country’s fintech ecosystem.
Card Targets More Than 200,000 Workers Initially
The first phase of the Botim One Jaywan Prepaid Card is expected to serve more than 200,000 workers, while Botim aims to eventually expand access to as many as 4 million workers across the UAE.
The card will be distributed through Botim’s regulated Wages Protection System (WPS) payroll solution, enabling employers to pay salaries digitally while giving employees a convenient way to use their wages for everyday purchases.
Digital Onboarding With No Minimum Salary Requirement
The Botim One Jaywan Prepaid Card does not require users to meet a minimum salary or maintain a minimum balance.
It also provides multilingual digital onboarding, allowing users to complete the registration process through digital channels. Cardholders can additionally access remittance services covering more than 170 destinations, along with other financial services available through the Botim platform.
Botim Expands Its Financial Services Offering
The new card builds on Botim’s growing presence in the UAE, where the company has reported 8.5 million users, as well as its existing payroll network.
By integrating prepaid payments with digital salary disbursement, Botim is expanding the range of financial services available to workers through its fintech platform.
Jaywan Card Supports Digital Payments for Workers
The launch highlights the growing role of digital payments in the UAE, particularly as fintech companies develop solutions designed to simplify salary payments and everyday transactions.
The Botim One Jaywan Prepaid Card combines digital onboarding, salary access and remittance services, adding another payment option for workers across the UAE.
