An analytical study conducted by inDrive during the first half of 2026 regarding its "inDrive.Delivery" service revealed that food and clothing top the list of the most shipped and transported items among individuals and startups in Egypt. According to the platform's analysis, which covered approximately 5,000 delivery orders during H1 2026, the "Food and Beverages" sector accounted for 29.3% of the total categorized orders, while the "Clothing and Footwear" sector ranked second with 21.2%. Together, they constitute over half of the total shipments and items transported via the app.

Regarding the analysis of the "Food and Beverages" category, the data showed a notable preference for transporting fresh ingredients and home-cooked food over fast food meals. Search keywords such as meat, spices, homemade food, and cheese were frequently repeated. In a striking surprise in consumption patterns, sushi orders accounted for 2.5% of total food requests, standing alongside traditional staples and commodities.

This remarkable demand is linked to the nature of the operational environment in Greater Cairo, which is home to around 23 million people. The capital was also ranked among the world's most traffic-congested cities in 2024, where drivers lose hundreds of hours annually due to traffic jams. This data is according to a report by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the global TomTom Traffic Index, as cited by the Egyptian Streets platform in its report on the growing "convenience culture" and the increasing reliance on delivery services in Cairo.

This massive population size, coupled with mounting traffic challenges, contributes to boosting the demand for express delivery services for daily needs. This makes hiring a courier to deliver food, clothing, or documents a practical choice that saves time and effort for a growing segment of the population.

Regardless of the type of shipment sent by individuals or businesses—whether it is food, a piece of clothing, or a set of documents—all orders via "inDrive.Delivery" are subject to a comprehensive system of built-in safety and security measures. Before any courier can accept a delivery request, they undergo an identity verification process that involves matching a photo of their ID card or driver's license with a personal photo taken during account registration.

The platform also grants users the freedom to choose the most suitable courier by reviewing their ratings, the number of completed trips, and the information available on their profile before confirming the order. Once the delivery process begins, the sender can track the order's route in real-time via an interactive map that displays the courier's live location from the moment the shipment is picked up until it is dropped off. Furthermore, a direct tracking link can be shared with the recipient so they can monitor the order's arrival.

To enhance the level of trust and security, senders can activate a Proof of Delivery feature using a One-Time Password (OTP). The recipient receives a unique code, and the courier cannot complete and close the order in the system until the correct code is entered, ensuring the shipment was successfully delivered. inDrive offers the "inDrive.Delivery" service across Egypt through its smart app, allowing users to instantly and on-demand transport groceries, clothing, documents, and other daily needs.
