Arabiat Egypt Prepares to Launch the Facelifted KGM Torres in Egypt by End of October
The Egyptian market is anticipating the official launch of the enhanced facelift version of the KGM Torres SUV, scheduled for reveal on October 31st by its exclusive dealer, Arabiat Egypt. This step follows global updates for the model, aimed at enhancing the driving experience and upgrading interior comfort and technology while retaining the vehicle's bold, aggressive stance and strong design language.
Exterior Tweaks for Added Appeal
Exterior updates for the KGM Torres Facelift include redesigned front bumpers and lower air intakes, giving the SUV a more modern look. Despite these updates, the car retains its signature headlight styling and iconic front fascia that embody its adventurous character. Additionally, new alloy wheel designs ranging from 17 to 20 inches have been introduced, along with a new exterior color option, Plasma Shadow, alongside existing popular shades such as Grand White, Platinum Grey, Space Black, Forest Green, and Dandy Blue.
An Upgraded Cabin & Smoother Driving Experience
The Korean automaker focused heavily on boosting practicality inside the cabin. The vehicle features a redesigned center console offering better storage solutions, a new two-spoke steering wheel, and a new electronic gear selector.
For improved ergonomics, the cabin is fitted with an integrated climate control panel featuring its own display screen, making fundamental functions easier to operate while driving. Technological highlights include the Athena 2.5 infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, as well as over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Furthermore, the car offers practical luggage capacity starting at 703 liters, expanding up to 1,662 liters with the rear seats folded.
Turbo Engine & New 8-Speed Transmission
On the performance front, the updated KGM Torres is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine delivering 170 horsepower and 300 Nm of peak torque.
The most prominent mechanical upgrade is the transmission: the engine is now paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission sourced from Aisin, replacing the previous 6-speed unit. Regarding fuel economy, the Korean FWD spec (on 17-inch wheels) records an official rating of around 11 liters per 100 km. Additionally, all-wheel-drive (AWD) variants feature a Terrain Mode system engineered to handle sand, mud, and snow efficiently.
