Partnership Between ”United Finance” and ”Taamweel Real Estate” Launches First Syndicated Mortgage Deal Worth EGP 120 Million

Deal Details and Partners

The Egyptian market witnessed the signing of its first syndicated real estate financing agreement between United Finance (a subsidiary of The United Bank) and Taamweel Mortgage Finance (a subsidiary of Taamweel Holding Group). The agreement is valued at EGP 120 million, split equally between the two companies to finance residential units for individuals. Both entities aim to expand this model by concluding new syndicated mortgage agreements worth up to EGP 500 million within the coming month.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Ahmed Adel Hamouda, Head of Business Sector at United Finance, and Mr. Karim El Batouty, Managing Director of Taamweel Mortgage Finance, in the presence of Mr. Maher Abou Steit, Chairman of United Finance, and Mr. Mohamed El Kahky, Chairman of Taamweel Holding.

The Strategic Value of Syndicated Financing Amid Inflation

Mr. Maher Abou Steit highlighted that this initiative represents a flexible addition toward advancing real estate financing tools and addressing current market demands, particularly given continuous hikes in property prices and higher funding requirements for residential units and major developments.

He explained that relying on standardized contracts approved by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) ensures clear roles and obligations for all participating parties, fostering market stability and transparency.

Risk Distribution and Financial Capacity Pooling

Mr. Mohamed El Kahky stated that the real estate finance sector is increasingly adopting syndicated contracts to absorb the impacts of inflation and reduced purchasing power. This mechanism allows multiple companies to provide a single joint loan, pooling their financial resources to deliver greater liquidity for high-value transactions.

Additionally, Mr. Karim El Batouty and Mr. Ahmed Adel Hamouda emphasized that co-financing offers a strategic advantage by distributing and mitigating risks. It also facilitates knowledge sharing and enhances the overall efficiency and quality of real estate finance services provided to clients.
