The Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Industry, affiliated with the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), held its periodic meeting chaired by Eng. Mohamed Abdel Ghaffar. The session focused on strategies to enhance the Chamber's performance, expand services for industry members, and review upcoming operational plans and training programs.

During the meeting, Eng. Abdel Ghaffar announced a comprehensive training strategy designed to raise awareness and institutional efficiency within the woodworking and furniture sector. The programs aim to boost marketing and export capabilities, facilitate international market integration, and address technical and operational challenges.

"We are introducing advanced training modules that cover international marketing, artificial intelligence applications, technical skills, and machinery troubleshooting," stated Eng. Abdel Ghaffar. "Our goal is to support workshops in transitioning from traditional methods to flexible, lean production, while also offering professional courses in management, competitiveness, and cost-pricing structures."

Strategic Geographic Training Distribution

The Chamber has tailored its training modules to align with the specific industrial landscape of different Egyptian governorates, ensuring targeted support without regional overlap:

Cairo: Benefiting from its proximity to decision-makers and exporters, Cairo will host programs on strategic corporate growth, integrated professional carpentry fundamentals, and cost and pricing strategies.

Damietta: As Egypt's leading furniture hub, programs here will focus on direct technical skills, including transitioning from "Experience-Based" to "Data-Driven" pricing, and shifting from traditional to lean manufacturing.

Sohag: Tailored for Upper Egypt’s manufacturers, courses will include foundational training on power tools, as well as corporate market positioning and marketing strategies.

Regional Expansion and Permanent Exhibitions

In a major step toward regional outreach, Eng. Abdel Ghaffar confirmed that the Chamber has completed the preparation of its new headquarters in Assiut, scheduled to officially open this August. Furthermore, preparations are underway to establish a permanent branch in Damietta. These expansions aim to widen the Chamber's membership base, enhance direct communication with local manufacturers, and effectively resolve industry challenges.

The Chamber is also actively exploring the establishment of a permanent furniture exhibition to provide companies with a continuous platform to showcase their production capabilities and competitive edge.
