The Food Export Council (FEC) extended its sincere appreciation to the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) and the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) for their fruitful cooperation in organizing a practical workshop. The session focused on guiding Egyptian companies through the registration process on the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) platform. This initiative aims to prepare companies to capitalize on promising export opportunities in the Chinese market, particularly following the implementation of customs exemptions on Egyptian imports.
The FEC stated that the workshop witnessed significant engagement from participating companies. It provided practical guidance on platform registration steps, requirements, data entry mechanisms, and the necessary technical procedures, enabling companies to correctly and systematically fulfill Chinese market access requirements.
Furthermore, the Council affirmed its commitment to providing ongoing technical and advisory support to both workshop participants and other companies seeking GACC registration. This will be achieved through continuous follow-up and coordination with relevant authorities until all registration procedures are finalized, thereby boosting the readiness of Egyptian companies to expand their exports to China.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Samy, General Manager of the General Administration of Exports at the NFSA, commended the workshop’s organization and the positive interaction from the companies. He emphasized that the high attendance reflects a growing interest among Egyptian businesses in leveraging opportunities in the Chinese market and complying with GACC registration requirements.
He added that this proactive engagement represents a crucial step toward qualifying Egyptian companies to increase their food exports to China. Dr. Samy also stressed the importance of adhering to technical and regulatory standards to ensure the quality and reputation of Egyptian products, ultimately bolstering their competitiveness in global markets.
