NTI Hosts Phase One of AAFFIAT National Qualifiers Ahead of Aswan World Finals

The National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) hosted Phase One of the national qualifiers for the 9th Afro-Asian Forum for Innovation and Technology (AAFFIAT) on February 13–14 at its headquarters in Knowledge City, under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The event aimed to select Egyptian teams that will represent the country in the world finals, scheduled to be held in Aswan.

Approximately 560 participants, aged between 5 and 18, competed in the qualifiers, forming 128 teams representing 10 governorates, including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Sheikh, Menoufia, Sharqia, Port Said, Qena, and Gharbia.

Participants competed in 19 technology-driven contests spanning multiple tracks such as robotics design and programming, rescue robotics, digital game development, innovation, scientific research, software development, and digital marketing.

The qualifiers were organized for the second consecutive year through a partnership between NTI and AAFFIAT, in collaboration with 25 academic partners. The initiative reflects joint efforts to foster technological innovation among young people and prepare a new generation capable of leading digital transformation projects.

Organizing the qualifiers aligns with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) strategy to invest in youth talent through specialized training programs, integrate technology into education, and empower young innovators to compete at regional and global levels.

Notably, Egyptian teams achieved strong results at the 2025 AAFFIAT global finals, securing 68 awards across the top three categories, including 19 first-place prizes. Egypt has also been selected to host the 2026 AAFFIAT edition in Aswan Governorate.
