RoboGarden Egypt and Shaghalni Partner to Empower Upper Egypt’s Youth with Digital Skills and Real Job Opportunities — Starting from Sohag

In alignment with Egypt’s national digital transformation and human development strategies, RoboGarden Egypt has announced a strategic partnership with Shaghalni, Egypt’s leading employment and job-matching platform, to launch a joint initiative aimed at empowering youth in Upper Egypt with in-demand digital and soft skills that prepare them for real job opportunities in the digital economy.

The collaboration will expand the Learn to Earn program across Egypt, starting with a pilot phase in Sohag Governorate, marking the first step in a broader plan to decentralize digital development and bring tech-enabled opportunities to underserved regions. The program targets non-technical youth, equipping them with essential coding, freelancing, and personal development skills that enable them to enter the local and regional freelance markets.

The choice of Sohag as the launchpad for this initiative reflects a strong commitment to regional equity and inclusive growth. Despite having one of Egypt’s highest youth populations, the governorate faces limited employment opportunities. Through Learn to Earn, RoboGarden Egypt and Shaghalni aim to transform Sohag into a model for digital empowerment and local talent development, setting the stage for nationwide expansion.

The pilot phase will train 20 non-technical young men and women on both technical and behavioral skills through an integrated curriculum that combines programming fundamentals with career readiness. Participants will receive hands-on training in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, alongside modules on freelancing, communication, time management, teamwork, and critical thinking.

The program is officially accredited by the University of Calgary (Canada), enabling participants to obtain internationally recognized certificates and enhancing their employability in both local and global digital markets.

Under the partnership, RoboGarden Egypt will oversee the entire training process — from curriculum delivery and trainer selection to program management and hybrid learning (in-person and online) — culminating in the issuance of accredited certificates from the University of Calgary. The company will also prepare sponsorship proposals and expansion plans to scale the program to other governorates.

Meanwhile, Shaghalni will provide the physical training venue in Sohag and co-develop sustainability and expansion strategies to ensure the long-term continuity of the initiative.

Dr. Lamia Negm, Chairperson of the Learn to Earn program at RoboGarden Egypt, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, saying:

> “This collaboration represents a genuine model of synergy between the private sector and civil society to empower youth and create sustainable job opportunities—especially in Upper Egypt, where talent abounds but opportunities remain scarce. Choosing Sohag is a deliberate decision that underscores our belief in investing in people as the cornerstone of true development. This initiative marks a meaningful step toward social justice and inclusive growth across all of Egypt’s governorates.”

Eng. Engy El Sabban, Co-founder and CEO of RoboGarden Egypt, emphasized the company’s commitment to practical education, noting:

> “At RoboGarden, we believe that education is the starting point for every transformation and that hands-on, guided training is the fastest way to enter the job market. Our partnership with Shaghalni is a strategic move to equip youth in Upper Egypt with globally relevant digital skills. Our goal is to create a new generation capable of shaping their professional futures using technology—without being constrained by geography or traditional job models.”

El Sabban added:

> “This partnership is a practical example of how the private and educational sectors can work together to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 8 on decent work and economic growth. Learn to Earn empowers youth with the tools to become productive, competitive, and future-ready.”

Omar Khalifa, Chairman of Shaghalni, shared his excitement about the collaboration:

> “We are proud to partner with RoboGarden Egypt in this initiative, which perfectly aligns with Shaghalni’s mission to empower youth and connect them with real job opportunities. Training 20 young participants in Sohag is just the beginning — our ambition is to scale this to reach thousands across Egypt. Digital skills are the present and the future, opening doors to meaningful full-time and freelance work both locally and globally.”

He added:

> “Developing technical capabilities is no longer optional — it’s essential. Creating digital job opportunities is the sustainable path to bridging the gap between education and employment. Our partnership with RoboGarden stands as a model for collaboration built for the future.”

This strategic partnership forms part of a broader vision to scale the Learn to Earn initiative nationwide, turning digital training into real employability pathways and nurturing a generation of skilled professionals capable of thriving in Egypt’s fast-growing digital economy.
