Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, honored ICT Misr for its pivotal support of the first edition of the «Digitopia» competition, recognizing the company’s contribution to advancing youth digital skills and strengthening the capabilities of Egypt’s growing technology workforce.

During the ceremony, Dr. Talaat presented the Digitopia Shield to leading technology organizations that supported and contributed to the program’s success, including ICT Misr. The recognition highlighted the company’s significant role in empowering young talent and helping build an education and training ecosystem capable of meeting the fast-evolving needs of the digital economy across all sectors.

Eng. Mohamed El-Mofty, Chairman of ICT Misr, expressed his pride in receiving the honor from Dr. Talaat, praising the Ministry’s efforts in digitally enabling youth, advancing technology learning, and shaping Egypt’s future digital landscape. He emphasized that empowering young people with strong technological competencies is essential for preparing future leaders.

El-Mofty added that ICT Misr’s commitment to youth empowerment goes beyond sponsoring key initiatives like «Digitopia». The company collaborates closely with technology universities and specialized faculties to train students prior to graduation, helping align academic learning with market demands. It also continues to offer hands-on training opportunities for young graduates within the company’s various departments.

The final stage of the first «Digitopia» competition, launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, took place on 28 and 29 November at the Egypt Digital Innovation Center in Giza. A total of 72 teams, representing more than 300 participants, competed to deliver innovative digital solutions addressing societal challenges and promoting the use of technology in community development.

The Minister also announced the winning teams during a major ceremony held on Saturday evening. The competition awarded financial prizes exceeding 10 million Egyptian pounds, including a top prize of 1 million pounds, in support of exceptional digital talent and to encourage the sustainability of innovation among Egypt’s youth.
