Food Export Council: 10 International Markets Drive Processed Food Export Growth, Reaching USD 1,679 million in the First Seven Months of 2026
The Food Export Council (FEC) confirmed that 10 key international markets recorded strong growth in Egyptian processed food exports during January–July 2026, with total exports reaching approximately USD 1,679 million, compared to USD 1,281 million during the same period in 2025, representing an increase of approximately USD 398 million.
The Council noted that these markets collectively accounted for approximately 38% of Egypt’s total processed food exports during the first seven months of 2026, highlighting the growing opportunities for Egyptian food products across Arab, European, Asian, and international markets.
South Korea recorded the highest growth rate among the 10 markets, with Egyptian processed food exports increasing by 126%, reaching USD 38 million during January–July 2026, compared to USD 17 million during the same period in 2025.
Spain ranked second in terms of export growth, with exports increasing by 107%, from USD 91 million to USD 188 million, representing an increase of approximately USD 97 million.
Egyptian processed food exports to the United Kingdom increased by 46%, reaching USD 108 million during the first seven months of 2026, compared to USD 74 million during the same period in 2025.
Exports to Palestine also recorded strong growth of 38%, increasing from USD 103 million to USD 142 million, an increase of approximately USD 39 million.
Exports to Algeria grew by 29%, reaching USD 159 million, compared to USD 123 million during the same period of the previous year, an increase of USD 36 million.
Among Arab markets, Egyptian processed food exports to Jordan increased by 20%, reaching USD 194 million, compared to USD 161 million. Exports to both Saudi Arabia and Iraq increased by 19%, reaching USD 363 million and USD 156 million, respectively, compared to USD 304 million and USD 132 million in January–July 2025.
Meanwhile, exports to the Netherlands increased by 21%, reaching USD 189 million during January–July 2026, compared to USD 156 million during the same period in 2025.
Egyptian processed food exports to China also grew by 19%, reaching USD 142 million, compared to USD 120 million during the corresponding period of 2025.
The Food Export Council emphasized that the strong performance of these markets reflects the ability of Egyptian food products to expand their international presence, strengthen their position in traditional markets, and achieve significant growth in promising markets. This performance contributes to increasing the sector’s export revenues while further diversifying Egypt’s export destinations.
The Council also highlighted its continued efforts to support exporting companies through providing market intelligence and marketing studies, organizing trade missions, and participating in international trade fairs, helping Egyptian companies capitalize on available growth opportunities and establish new channels and markets for processed food exports.
