Ford Recalls Over 148,000 Mustangs in the US Over Power Loss and Electrical Failures

Ford Motor Company has recalled 148,663 vehicles in the United States due to electrical faults that could lead to a sudden loss of motive power and the failure of critical safety functions, including headlights and windshield washers.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall specifically affects Ford Mustang models from the 2024 to 2026 production years. The safety regulator noted that grounding connections within the engine compartment's wiring harness may malfunction. This defect can disable essential vehicle components such as the windshield washing system, headlights, air conditioning, and the engine cooling fan, significantly increasing the risk of a crash due to reduced visibility and sudden power loss.

To resolve the issue, authorized Ford dealers will replace the faulty grounding terminals in the affected wiring harnesses at no cost to vehicle owners.
