Orascom Investment Holding announced that it was neither consulted nor contracted regarding the newly launched stationary balloon project at the Giza Pyramids, stating the move violates its exclusive commercial rights within the designated visitor area.

Responding to press inquiries, the company clarified that its existing contract for developing the Pyramids' visitor plateau grants it the exclusive right to manage and contract any commercial activities within the zone. According to the statement, the balloon project has been a subject of ongoing dispute between Orascom and the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

Despite multiple attempts by the company to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, no agreement was finalized. Orascom expressed its surprise at the sudden operational launch and public announcement of the balloon project, which proceeded without any prior notification or coordination with their team.

The company highlighted that the balloon is physically located within the geographical boundaries of the "Orascom Pyramids" project. Therefore, any activities implemented in this zone must strictly adhere to the established contractual frameworks and require prior coordination.

In its statement, Orascom Investment Holding firmly asserted that it reserves all its legal and contractual rights under its agreement with the Supreme Council of Antiquities, adding that it will take all necessary measures guaranteed by law to protect its business interests.

Despite the dispute, the company reiterated its overarching commitment to developing, organizing, and elevating the visitor experience at the Giza Pyramids. Orascom affirmed its continued dedication to cooperating with the Supreme Council of Antiquities and relevant authorities, provided that the rights and obligations of all parties are respected in accordance with the law.
