As artificial intelligence transforms the cybersecurity landscape, Fortinet is stepping up its focus on advanced security technologies, digital sovereignty and workforce development in Egypt.

Khaled Fawzy, General Manager of Fortinet Egypt, said the growing use of AI and digital services is making cybersecurity a fundamental requirement for organisations pursuing digital transformation. He pointed to the increasing need to protect data, safeguard critical digital infrastructure and ensure greater control over digital environments.

Fawzy said the company’s presence at Cairo ICT 2026 will provide a platform to demonstrate how its latest solutions are addressing these challenges, particularly through the use of AI to strengthen security systems and improve organisations’ ability to deal with increasingly advanced cyber threats.

AI and Digital Sovereignty in Focus

Fortinet will use two dedicated exhibition spaces to present its technologies and areas of focus.

One pavilion will demonstrate how AI capabilities are being incorporated into cybersecurity solutions, while highlighting the importance of digital sovereignty in protecting digital infrastructure and data.

The company will also participate in the AIEDC pavilion, presenting developments in artificial intelligence and exploring emerging technologies and their applications.

Building Egypt’s Cybersecurity Workforce

Fortinet’s strategy in Egypt also extends beyond technology, with skills development forming an important part of its long-term priorities.

Fawzy highlighted the company’s collaboration with Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to prepare specialised digital professionals. The partnership supports efforts to address the shortage of cybersecurity expertise, narrow the digital skills gap and equip professionals with capabilities that match evolving labour market needs.

Training the Next Generation of Digital Specialists

The company is also directing attention towards young people through training and educational initiatives linked to its corporate social responsibility commitments.

These programmes aim to introduce future generations to opportunities in cybersecurity and technology, while providing access to specialised learning resources and training platforms. Through these efforts, Fortinet seeks to contribute to developing a broader talent pool equipped to support Egypt’s digital transformation.

By combining AI-focused security innovation with investment in people and professional skills, Fortinet is using Cairo ICT 2026 to underline the importance of building a more secure and capable digital ecosystem.
