CIB Prioritizes AI and Cybersecurity for the Future of Banking Services
Romani Hafez, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Commercial International Bank (CIB), affirmed that the bank continues to invest in developing financial technology solutions and artificial intelligence applications, with a focus on data analytics to predict customer behavior, emphasizing the importance of balancing digital innovation with cybersecurity and the protection of depositors' funds.
Long-Standing Partnership and Shared Vision with Cairo ICT
Speaking at the preparatory conference for Cairo ICT, Hafez explained that CIB's partnership with the exhibition spans nearly 30 years, built on a shared vision to exchange expertise with the technology and telecommunications sector. He also praised "e-finance" for attracting Arab leaders and ministers, enhancing the event's regional footprint and promoting knowledge sharing across Arab markets.
Transitioning from "Financial Inclusion" to "Financial Freedom"
Hafez highlighted that digital advancements have surpassed traditional financial inclusion, empowering customers to manage their finances freely via mobile phones without needing to visit branches. He underscored the bank’s commitment to engaging with younger generations, noting that many of their past demands—once considered difficult to execute—have now become a tangible banking reality.
Balancing Opportunities and Risks in AI and Cybersecurity
Hafez stressed that expanding AI adoption requires robust risk management, emphasizing that protecting customer data and deposits remains a top priority for the banking sector. He added that the true challenge lies in leveraging AI capabilities into actionable decisions and analyzing spending patterns to anticipate future customer needs.
