talabat Egypt Partners with Sonaa El Khair Foundation to Launch Ramadan Iftar Initiative in Gharbeya
talabat Egypt, a leading technology platform for e-commerce across the Middle East and North Africa, has partnered with Sonaa El Khair Foundation for Development to launch a Ramadan Ma’edat Rahman initiative in Gharbeya Governorate, providing daily Iftar meals to families in need during the holy month.
The foundation is a member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, and the initiative aims to serve around 500 beneficiaries per day, helping strengthen food security for vulnerable groups throughout Ramadan.
As part of the initiative, a dedicated Ma’edat Rahman will be organized in Gharbeya to ensure consistent access to daily meals for beneficiaries. The effort is being implemented in collaboration with the teams of Sonaa El Khair Foundation alongside volunteers from talabat employees to support the efficient preparation and distribution of meals.
The initiative reflects talabat Egypt’s commitment to generating positive social impact within the communities it serves by supporting underserved families, particularly during periods when living costs increase. It also aligns with broader national efforts to strengthen Egypt’s social protection system.
Commenting on the initiative, Hadeer Shalaby, Vice President and Managing Director of talabat Egypt, said the company believes meaningful social impact requires collaborative partnerships between the private sector and civil society organizations.
For his part, Mostafa Zamzam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sonaa El Khair Foundation, stated that the organization plans to distribute two million meals during Ramadan across several governorates in Egypt in collaboration with multiple partners.
He noted that the foundation had developed a comprehensive operational plan to ensure the initiative reaches families most in need.
The new initiative builds on an existing strategic partnership between talabat Egypt and Sonaa El Khair Foundation through the “Seket Rezk” program, which focused on empowering youth from care homes by providing employment opportunities, production tools, and financial support in collaboration with Suez Canal Bank.
The launch of the Ramadan initiative reflects the continuation of this collaborative approach, combining long-term empowerment programs with immediate humanitarian support during critical social periods.
