Vodafone Egypt Foundation and Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation Launch “Caravans of Light” Mobile Healthcare Campaign Across 27 Governorates
Vodafone Egypt Foundation for Community Development has announced the launch of the “Caravans of Light” campaign in partnership with Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation (IBF) and NSA Labs, aiming to deploy mobile medical convoys across all 27 Egyptian governorates to expand access to healthcare services in rural and underserved communities.
The initiative is designed to enhance early diagnosis and improve healthcare quality by delivering integrated services that include medical examinations, diagnostic screenings, laboratory testing, medication dispensing, chronic disease follow-ups, and funding for critical surgical interventions.
During the holy month of Ramadan, donations will be facilitated exclusively through Vodafone Cash, enabling Vodafone customers to contribute easily. All proceeds will be directed to Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation to support the medical convoys throughout Ramadan, ensuring rapid and measurable impact. Field operations will continue until mid-May.
The campaign is expected to deliver 27,000 medical check-ups and support 270 critical surgeries, with a focus on Egypt’s most vulnerable rural communities. Vodafone employees will also participate on the ground through the “Yalla Nesharek” volunteer program to help organize operations and raise community awareness.
The convoys will cover six key medical specialties: pediatrics, internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedics, dermatology, and ENT. Advanced cases requiring surgical intervention will be referred and funded, while chronic conditions will be monitored to ensure sustained care and improved health outcomes.
Established in 2003, Vodafone Egypt Foundation has invested approximately EGP 700 million in large-scale development projects benefiting over 11 million Egyptians, with a strong focus on education and healthcare.
Founded in 2014, Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation has conducted more than 1,064 medical convoys across 26 governorates, served over one million patients, and supported 2,800 surgeries, backed by more than 600 medical professionals and 4,350 volunteers.
