Visa, Mastercard and Ant International Launch Framework to Secure AI-Powered Payments

Visa, Mastercard and Ant International have joined forces to develop a new trust framework aimed at making transactions conducted by AI agents more secure and reliable.

The initiative focuses on establishing common industry standards for identifying and verifying AI agents that can make purchases on behalf of users. The move comes as AI-powered systems are increasingly being integrated into digital commerce and payment services.

Under the proposed framework, participating companies will work toward creating mechanisms that allow payment providers and other businesses to distinguish legitimate AI agents and verify their authority to carry out transactions.
