Egypt Doubles 150 EGP Fixed-Line Internet Package to 100GB
Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) have directed fixed-line internet providers to double the data allowance of the basic package priced at EGP 150 per month, increasing it from 50GB to 100GB without raising the subscription fee.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the NTRA said the measure follows recommendations issued by Egypt Forum 2026 and announced by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

The initiative aims to promote digital inclusion, expand access to internet services and ease financial pressures on citizens. It is also intended to give subscribers greater capacity to use a wider range of digital services without paying more for the basic package.
According to the authority, doubling the monthly data allowance will support Egypt’s digital transformation efforts by making it easier for citizens to access online educational, healthcare and government services, as well as other services that rely on internet connectivity.
Under the measure, customers subscribed to the EGP 150 basic package will receive twice their previous data allowance while continuing to pay the same monthly fee. The change is intended to support everyday internet use and improve access to digital services without additional subscription costs.
