“We are proud of our ongoing partnership with the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, which represents a global model for specialized healthcare in Egypt. Our EGP 30 million donation to support the pediatric outpatient department builds on a long history of collaboration and reflects our firm belief that investing in children’s health is an investment in the future of society as a whole. This initiative is neither the first nor the last, as social responsibility remains a core pillar of Al Baraka Bank Egypt’s strategy. Through such initiatives, we aim to create sustainable impact that goes beyond financial support by empowering institutions capable of delivering real change in people’s lives, in line with our Shariah-compliant banking values that place people at the heart of our priorities,” the bank stated.
For her part, Dina El Gazzar expressed appreciation for the continued support, noting that the donation will accelerate operational readiness and enhance the efficiency of the pediatric outpatient department at the new Cairo center. She added that the contribution will enable the foundation to deliver advanced medical services and accommodate a larger number of young patients, ensuring free, world-class healthcare for children and positively impacting their families.
The pediatric outpatient clinics at the new center will provide comprehensive examinations and advanced diagnostic services to thousands of children annually, contributing to the overall improvement of free healthcare services in Egypt. The new Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Center in Cairo has been designed with a capacity three times that of the Aswan Heart Centre, aiming to serve up to 120,000 outpatient cases annually and treat around 12,000 patients, a significant portion of whom are children.
This donation marks another milestone in the partnership between Al Baraka Bank Egypt and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation. The bank previously contributed to equipping the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) at the new center in 6th of October City, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to strengthening Egypt’s healthcare system and directing its social investments toward sustainable, high-impact projects—particularly in the healthcare sector.
