Qatar Post Launches UPI-Backed ”PosTransfer” Remittance Service to India in Collaboration with UPU
Qatar Post has officially launched a new cross-border money transfer service connecting the State of Qatar with the Republic of India. Developed in strategic partnership with India Post and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the initiative enables residents in Qatar to seamlessly send financial remittances to beneficiaries in India via the "PosTransfer" platform, which is integrated with India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
The rollout of the new financial service was timed to coincide with India’s Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The initiative is specifically designed to expand the financial transfer options available to the large Indian expatriate community residing in Qatar, providing a faster and more accessible route to support their families back home.
