eTax Signs MoU with Microsoft Egypt to Advance AI-Driven Tax Digital Transformation
eTax, the Technology Operation Solutions Company for Taxation and the technology arm supporting the Egyptian Tax Authority, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft Egypt to enhance collaboration in digital tax transformation and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies within Egypt’s tax ecosystem.
According to an official statement issued by eTax, the MoU establishes a strategic framework for cooperation between both parties, focusing on assessing and prioritizing AI use cases across current and future tax services and systems. The agreement also includes the exchange of expertise on global AI best practices, governance frameworks, and risk assessment tools, alongside capacity-building initiatives to strengthen workforce skills within the tax administration system.

Evaluating and prioritizing AI applications in tax services and digital platforms.
Leveraging Microsoft’s global expertise in AI governance, compliance, and risk management.
Developing a comprehensive roadmap for talent development and institutional capacity building.
Exploring advanced cloud solutions to strengthen the Egyptian Tax Authority’s digital infrastructure and enhance service delivery to taxpayers.
The partnership aligns with eTax’s pivotal role as the technological enabler of the Egyptian Tax Authority, responsible for developing digital systems and electronic services that align with international standards in tax administration.
The MoU marks the starting point of a broader collaboration aimed at implementing AI-powered projects to promote tax compliance, enhance transparency, improve taxpayer experience, and enable more advanced and efficient tax data analytics.
