The Technotime Excellence Awards 2025 celebrated the growing impact of digital payments, fintech, and insurance companies in driving the cashless economy and simplifying everyday financial transactions. Four leading companies – Sohoola, Dhaman, Smart, and Tharwa Insurance – were honored for their operational and technological contributions to advancing digital financial services, expanding financial inclusion, and delivering customer-centric insurance solutions aligned with global trends.

The awards ceremony was held under the presence of Technotime Board members, including Dr. Safwat Al-Nahhas, Secretary-General of the Arab African Economic Council, Counselor Hany Hassan Abu Zeid, and Ambassador Yasser Al-Bakhshwan, First Deputy Chair of the Council. In their remarks, they emphasized that the digital payments sector has become a key driver of Egypt’s digital transformation, enhancing efficiency and accessibility of services for citizens and institutions alike.

Sohoola was recognized for reshaping the digital consumer finance model through flexible, technology-driven solutions that offer faster and simpler financing experiences. The award was received by Eng. Ahmed Al-Shenawy, CEO of Sohoola, who highlighted the company’s focus on data-driven, smart financing solutions that ensure rapid approvals and simplified user experiences, supporting responsible expansion of digital finance services.

Dhaman received accolades for its development of electronic payment services and collection networks, as well as its extensive deployment of digital payment points, which facilitate daily transactions and promote financial inclusion. The award was received by Eng. Sameh Al-Mallah, CEO of Dhaman, who emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing operational and technical infrastructure to increase the efficiency and security of digital payments.

Smart was honored for its pivotal role in operating and managing smart card systems and related services, delivering large-scale digital platforms for mass-market sectors through a reliable and high-performance operational framework. Eng. Tarek Melesh, Chairman of Smart Group, received the award, noting the company’s ongoing efforts to upgrade systems and expand services to support digital transformation across public services.

The insurance sector was also prominently featured, with Tharwa Insurance recognized for advancing technology-driven insurance services, offering more efficient and transparent issuance, tracking, and customer service processes. The award was received by Eng. Ahmed Khalifa, CEO of Tharwa Insurance, who affirmed that the recognition reflects the success of the company’s strategy to digitize insurance operations, improve transparency, and enhance customer experience.
