Al-Futtaim Real Estate Egypt, owner and operator of the Cairo Festival City project in New Cairo, has announced the appointment of Eng. Ahmed Helwany as Managing Director. Helwany will lead the company’s strategic initiatives to strengthen its vision, continue sustainable growth, and drive innovation across the real estate sector in Egypt.

This appointment reflects Al-Futtaim Real Estate’s commitment to executive excellence and the deployment of specialized expertise capable of translating strategic vision into tangible results. With over 18 years of experience in real estate development across Egypt and the Middle East, Helwany brings a strong track record managing multi-phase projects for leading companies including SODIC, Orascom Development, Marakez, Emaar Misr, and Eagle Hills in the UAE and Morocco.

Helwany’s comprehensive approach combines strategic planning with operational execution, supporting sustainable growth, maximizing long-term asset value, and enhancing the company’s competitive edge in the Egyptian market. His appointment is expected to further strengthen project management capabilities and operational efficiency while supporting Al-Futtaim Real Estate’s measured expansion strategy.

Helwany holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Cairo University and began his career as an architectural design engineer at Dar Al-Handasah. He has also completed executive programs at the American University in Cairo in risk management, feasibility studies, budgeting and financial control, and contract management, equipping him with the technical and operational expertise required to lead large-scale real estate developments.
