CIB Announces January 2026 Gold Certificate Draw Winners, Awards 50 Gold Pounds and 1kg Grand Prize
Commercial International Bank (CIB) announced the results of its January 2026 Gold Certificate draw during a ceremony held at a Cairo hotel on Saturday, awarding prizes to customers as part of its promotional savings campaign.
The draw saw Soha Mahmoud Mohamed Abou El Fotouh win the grand prize of a 1-kilogram 24K gold bar, alongside 50 additional winners who each received a 21K gold pound coin. The bank confirmed that the draw was conducted in accordance with approved procedures and under the supervision of the relevant authorities to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all participating customers.
CIB stated that monthly draws will continue for 36 consecutive months, with 50 gold pounds awarded each month, in addition to the annual grand prize. The campaign is linked to the bank’s Gold Certificate savings product, which aims to combine fixed returns with recurring prize opportunities.
Amr El-Ganainy, Deputy CEO and Executive Board Member at CIB, described the Gold Certificate as one of the largest prize-linked savings products in the history of Egypt’s banking sector in terms of prize value and scale. He stressed that the product is not a temporary promotional campaign but a structured savings instrument backed by a real financial pool that funds the prizes in an organized and transparent manner.
He further emphasized that customers may win more than once, enhancing the attractiveness of the certificate as a secure investment option. El-Ganainy also warned customers against fraud attempts, reiterating that the bank does not request confidential information via social media or unsolicited messages and advising customers to rely solely on official communication channels.
The Gold Certificate has a three-year term with a fixed annual interest rate of 5% paid monthly. It grants automatic entry into monthly gold prize draws starting from January 1, 2026. The minimum subscription amount is EGP 20,000, which provides two monthly draw entries. Each additional EGP 10,000 increases the number of draw chances, with no cap on the number of times a customer can win.
Each month, 51 winners are selected, including one grand prize of a 1kg gold bar and 50 gold pound coins. Customers can also access credit facilities of up to 95% of the certificate’s value without affecting their principal or eligibility for draws.
The bank confirmed that all draws are conducted under the official supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, pursuant to License No. 2 of 2026, ensuring full compliance and transparency.
