Nokia and Orange Egypt Mark 25 Years of Strategic Partnership, Sign New Agreements to Expand 5G Deployment

Nokia and Orange Egypt have celebrated more than 25 years of strategic partnership in the Egyptian market, while signing new agreements aimed at further strengthening their long-standing collaboration. The latest agreements focus primarily on the deployment of fifth-generation (5G) technologies, with Nokia set to establish new sites for Orange Egypt, deliver high-capacity solutions, and expand First Line Maintenance (FLM) services over the next three years.

These initiatives support Orange Egypt’s plans to enhance network efficiency and deliver the highest levels of quality and reliability to its customers, building on a partnership that has played a key role in shaping Egypt’s telecommunications landscape for more than two decades.

The collaboration reflects Orange Egypt’s continued reliance on cutting-edge global technologies to build advanced networks capable of supporting rapid digital transformation and contributing to Egypt’s economic and social development. For its part, Nokia brings global leadership in developing AI-ready communication networks, spanning mobile, fixed, and transport networks, as well as digital infrastructure and enterprise solutions.

Mikko Lavanti, Senior Vice President, Mobile Networks, Middle East and Africa at Nokia, said the partnership dates back to Orange Egypt’s origins as the country’s first mobile operator, beginning with Egypt’s first 2G call and evolving over 25 years to the successful commercial launch of 5G in 2025.

Lavanti added that deploying Nokia’s latest products across Orange Egypt’s network will have a broad developmental impact by enhancing connectivity, stimulating economic growth, promoting environmental sustainability, and improving access to essential services, contributing to a more inclusive and digitally empowered future.

Dr. Ayman Amiri, Vice President for Technology and Information at Orange Egypt, emphasized that supporting comprehensive digital transformation and Egypt Vision 2030 remains central to the company’s strategy. He highlighted that the long-standing partnership with Nokia has enabled Orange Egypt to deliver ultra-fast mobile data services, seamless browsing experiences, and high-quality voice services via VoLTE, significantly enhancing customer experience and network performance.

He also noted that the collaboration led to the establishment of an advanced skills center in Egypt, where all new technologies and products are tested and certified before deployment across Orange networks in the Middle East and Africa, strengthening local technical capabilities and knowledge transfer.

The celebration coincided with Nokia hosting a silver jubilee event marking the historic partnership, attended by senior executives from both companies and contributors to the collaboration’s success, in an atmosphere highlighted by a special appearance by Egyptian artist Ruby.
