Gold Prices Edge Higher in Egypt on Tuesday, August 26, 2025

Gold prices in Egypt rose slightly during Tuesday’s trading session, reflecting global market movements as investors weighed expectations of a potential U.S. Federal Reserve rate cut.
According to local gold market updates:
24-karat gold was quoted between EGP 5,211 and EGP 5,234 per gram.
21-karat gold, the most widely traded in Egypt, stood between EGP 4,560 and EGP 4,580 per gram.
18-karat gold ranged from EGP 3,908 to EGP 3,926 per gram.
14-karat gold traded around EGP 3,040–3,053 per gram, while 12-karat gold hovered near EGP 2,605–2,614 per gram.
The price of the gold pound (8 grams of 21-karat) was recorded between EGP 36,480 and EGP 36,640.
Traders noted that the upward movement was supported by a decline in U.S. Treasury yields, which reduced the opportunity cost of holding the non-yielding metal.
On the international market, spot gold touched its highest level in two weeks, boosted by remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell signaling a possible shift toward monetary easing amid concerns over labor market conditions.
Market analysts expect gold demand in Egypt to remain sensitive to both global monetary policy signals and local currency fluctuations, with investors seeking safe-haven assets during periods of uncertainty.
