To Establish an International School Campus in Alexandria: QNB Egypt Arranges Financing for the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport

QNB Egypt, a subsidiary of QNB Group—the leading financial institution in the Middle East and Africa—has arranged a long-term financing facility for the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). The facility aims to support the construction of a new international school campus in the Al-Amreya district of Alexandria Governorate.

This project is part of AASTMT's expansion into the pre-university education sector, responding to the growing demand for international education in Egypt. The new campus features dedicated facilities for both the British and American educational systems, covering the entire academic path from kindergarten through high school (K-12), with a total capacity of approximately 3,000 students.

The bank is covering around 71% of the project's financing requirements, which include the construction of two academic buildings comprising 150 classrooms. Meanwhile, the Academy will be responsible for providing laboratories, educational facilities, and supporting infrastructure equipped with the latest artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation technologies, in accordance with international standards.
This financing reflects QNB Egypt's commitment to supporting investments in strategic sectors. It also underscores its role as a trusted partner for sustainable development by delivering tailored financial solutions that support high-impact projects and national development priorities.
Furthermore, this step reaffirms the success of the ongoing partnership between both parties, which dates back to 1984. Over the decades, the bank has provided a comprehensive range of banking and financial services, highlighting the importance of joint cooperation between the financial and educational sectors.
Commenting on this milestone, Mr. Mohamed Bedeir, CEO of QNB Egypt, stated: "At QNB Egypt, we focus on supporting projects that deliver sustainable value and contribute to the development of essential services. Through our financing solutions and strong partnerships with our clients, we continue to empower investments that drive growth in priority sectors."
On his part, Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of AASTMT, said: "This project represents a major milestone in the Academy's strategy to expand its educational services and boost its contribution to the education sector in Egypt. We deeply value our longstanding relationship with QNB Egypt, which spans more than four decades, and we highly appreciate the bank’s support in bringing this strategic project to life."
