Ivanti takes autonomous IT operations to FDC Summit 2026

IT teams have spent years reacting to problems after they appear.

A device falls out of compliance, an employee opens a support ticket, a patch fails to install or a security issue emerges, then someone has to investigate and fix it.

Ivanti is trying to reverse that model.

The company is participating in FDC Summit 2026 as a Value-Added Partner, bringing a strategy centered on autonomous endpoint management, agentic AI and IT systems that can increasingly identify problems, decide what action is needed and remediate issues before users even notice them.

For Ivanti, that marks a significant shift from traditional device management.

The company has built its enterprise portfolio around IT service management, endpoint management, security, asset discovery and digital employee experience, with the Ivanti Neurons platform acting as the layer connecting these areas.

Its latest 2026 roadmap suggests that the next step is not simply adding AI features to those products.

It is allowing IT operations themselves to become more autonomous.

From managing endpoints to letting them manage themselves

One of the technologies most likely to define Ivanti’s presence at FDC is Autonomous Endpoint Management, or AEM.

Traditional endpoint management gives IT departments tools to enroll devices, deploy software, configure policies and install patches.

Ivanti’s AEM model goes further by combining device visibility, security, digital employee experience, automation and AI into a system designed to continuously monitor endpoints and take corrective action when necessary.

The company says the platform can discover managed and unmanaged assets, identify problems, prioritize risks and automate remediation across areas such as configuration, patching and device health.

The goal is to reduce the amount of routine work that still requires manual intervention.

Instead of waiting for a user to report that an application has stopped working, for example, an endpoint management platform could identify abnormal behavior and attempt to repair the problem automatically.

The same principle applies to security.

A device that becomes vulnerable or falls outside compliance policies can increasingly be identified and remediated without waiting for an administrator to start the process.

Predictive remediation pushes the model further

Ivanti took that strategy another step in July with the expansion of Predictive Remediation.

The technology is designed to predict whether patching and remediation efforts are likely to meet required compliance targets before a deadline is missed.

Rather than simply showing administrators which patches have already failed, the system can identify conditions that could prevent successful remediation and highlight the actions required to correct them earlier.

This turns patch management into a more forward-looking process.

An IT team can see that a group of devices is likely to miss a compliance target because of configuration problems or incomplete visibility and intervene before the maintenance window closes.

That may sound like an incremental improvement, but at large enterprise scale it addresses a significant operational problem.

Organizations can manage tens of thousands of devices, each running different software versions and operating under different network conditions.

Waiting until patching fails before investigating the reason creates delays and leaves vulnerabilities exposed for longer.

Predictive remediation attempts to move that decision earlier.

AI agents are entering the service desk

Ivanti is also applying the same autonomous philosophy to IT support.

The company introduced persona-based Agentic AI capabilities for Ivanti Neurons for ITSM during 2026, designed to move beyond conventional chatbots toward agents capable of resolving incidents and requests from beginning to end.

Traditional virtual assistants generally answer common questions or help route tickets.

Ivanti’s newer approach is built around agents that can interpret an employee’s request, understand context, follow organizational policies and take actions through IT workflows.

That could allow routine issues to be resolved without entering a traditional service desk queue.

An employee experiencing a configuration problem, for example, could interact with an AI agent capable of identifying the device, understanding the issue and initiating an approved remediation workflow.

Humans remain involved where policies or risk require approval, but the objective is to reduce the number of repetitive incidents that consume service desk time.

Nearly half of IT operations could soon be automated

Ivanti’s own 2026 research suggests companies are moving rapidly in that direction.

Its latest AI maturity study found that 57% of IT organizations are already using agentic AI across at least several important workflows, while another 32% are piloting the technology.

The research also found that organizations expect AI to automate almost 46% of their IT operations within the next 18 months.

The areas seeing some of the highest adoption include Level 1 IT support, network and infrastructure operations and endpoint management.

AI is already being used for tasks including anomaly detection, vulnerability identification and patch prioritization, while more mature organizations are allowing systems to take direct action, such as isolating risky devices, restarting services or applying patches automatically.

That suggests the biggest change may not be the disappearance of IT teams.

It may be a shift in what those teams spend their time doing.

Routine maintenance, troubleshooting and remediation could increasingly move to automation, leaving human specialists focused on architecture, complex incidents and strategic decisions.

Continuous compliance replaces scheduled patching

Another development Ivanti could highlight at FDC is Continuous Compliance within Ivanti Neurons for Patch Management.

Introduced as part of the company’s second-quarter 2026 updates, the framework identifies endpoints that have fallen outside compliance requirements and can deploy missing patches outside normal maintenance cycles.

Traditional patching often follows a schedule.

Updates are tested, approved and deployed during predetermined windows.

But devices can miss those windows because they are offline, remote or incorrectly configured.

Continuous Compliance is designed to detect those gaps and close them automatically.

For regulated organizations such as banks, government agencies and operators of critical infrastructure, that could become particularly important because security requirements are increasingly measured continuously rather than only during periodic audits.

AI is also finding more vulnerabilities

The push toward autonomous remediation is becoming more urgent because artificial intelligence is accelerating vulnerability discovery itself.

Ivanti said this year that its own product security teams have begun integrating advanced large language models into their security testing processes, helping identify vulnerabilities that traditional static and dynamic analysis tools failed to detect.

The implication reaches beyond Ivanti.

If AI can help legitimate security teams discover vulnerabilities faster, attackers can potentially gain similar advantages.

That could create a growing gap between how quickly vulnerabilities are discovered and how quickly enterprises are able to patch them.

Manual remediation processes may struggle to keep up.

Ivanti’s answer is to automate more of the path between discovering risk and fixing it.

The endpoint is becoming the control point

Ivanti’s technology story also reflects how important endpoints remain even as enterprise computing shifts toward cloud and AI.

Employees still interact with corporate systems through laptops, smartphones and other devices.

Those endpoints can contain credentials, access sensitive information and connect users to cloud applications.

Ivanti Neurons for Discovery continuously identifies devices and software across the environment, including unmanaged and Shadow IT assets, while combining that information with vulnerability data and endpoint context.

That visibility becomes the foundation for automation.

An autonomous system cannot safely patch, isolate or repair an endpoint if it does not first have accurate information about what that endpoint is, who owns it and what applications it is running.

This is why Ivanti increasingly describes trusted data as the starting point for autonomous IT.

FDC Summit offers Ivanti a practical AI story

Ivanti brings a different kind of artificial intelligence story to FDC Summit 2026.

Unlike companies focused primarily on generative models or cybersecurity threat detection, its strategy applies AI to the repetitive operational work taking place inside enterprise IT departments every day.

Endpoint maintenance, patch compliance, service desk tickets and device troubleshooting may not attract the same attention as new generative AI models.

But they consume significant time and resources across large organizations.

Ivanti is betting that this is precisely where autonomous technology can demonstrate measurable value first.

For enterprises attending FDC Summit, the question may therefore be less about whether AI can replace an IT administrator.

It is whether administrators should still be spending their time manually fixing problems that software can increasingly predict and resolve on its own.
