Saudi Arabia’s AI Market Set for Explosive Growth, Projected to Hit $16.9 Billion by 2032 Driven by Vision 2030
A recent study by the U.S.-based market research firm MarketsandMarkets reveals that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) market in Saudi Arabia is experiencing one of the fastest growth rates globally. Fueled by massive government investments, digital transformation initiatives, and the rapid expansion of smart city projects, the market size is projected to surge from $2.14 billion in 2025 to approximately $16.9 billion by 2032, registering a remarkable Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 34.3%.
The study highlights that the Kingdom is firmly cementing its position as a leading AI hub in the Middle East, capitalizing on the ambitious goals of "Saudi Vision 2030." This strategic framework has positioned AI as a primary catalyst for economic diversification, moving away from oil dependency while building a robust digital economy rooted in data and innovation.
Increased government spending on AI projects, the development of regulatory frameworks, and the launch of digital government initiatives have significantly accelerated AI adoption across ministries, government bodies, and large enterprises. This widespread integration is actively supporting the transition toward a highly competitive knowledge-based economy.
According to the report, the infrastructure segment will generate the highest revenue in 2025, driven by the expansion of data centers, high-performance computing, cloud infrastructure, and advanced networking required to run AI applications at scale. Conversely, Generative AI is expected to record the highest growth rate among all technologies, with a CAGR of 47.5% through 2032. This is propelled by surging demand for Large Language Models (LLMs), smart assistants, business automation, content creation, and data analytics.
In terms of business functions, the sales and marketing sector is projected to capture the largest share of AI usage in 2025, generating around $580 million in revenue. This growth is attributed to companies increasingly deploying AI for customer analytics, smart marketing, personalized digital experiences, and optimized sales strategies. Furthermore, technology and software providers are set to achieve the fastest growth among beneficiary sectors at a 38.4% CAGR, driven by the rising demand for intelligent solutions, platforms, and cloud services.
The commercial applications of AI are expanding rapidly across the Kingdom, particularly within the oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare, travel and hospitality, and government sectors. Smart technologies are currently being deployed for medical diagnostics, population health management, supply chain optimization, fraud detection, and the automation of government services. The establishment of national data platforms, coupled with cloud computing expansion and cybersecurity investments, is fostering a trusted environment for the large-scale rollout of AI solutions.
Mega-projects such as NEOM, the Red Sea, and various smart city developments are identified as key market drivers. These projects heavily rely on AI technologies spanning computer vision, digital twins, predictive analytics, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and smart infrastructure management.
While "Vision 2030" and the National Strategy for Data and AI remain the primary catalysts for market growth, the report notes that challenges persist. Key hurdles include the high costs associated with developing and operating secure, compliant AI systems, as well as the varying readiness levels of traditional enterprises and SMEs to adopt these technologies. Future challenges also encompass enhancing AI governance, ensuring data privacy, improving algorithmic transparency, and mitigating bias within smart models—particularly those tailored for the Arabic language.
The study highlighted several successful case studies within the Kingdom. For instance, Omantel partnered with Elevatus to implement AI-powered video interviews, which tripled their ROI, accelerated assessments by 83%, and executed hiring 12 times faster than traditional methods, evaluating over 5,500 candidates in mere days. Similarly, Savvy Games Group integrated full AI capabilities from HUMAIN into its operations, leveraging the company's data centers and cloud infrastructure to boost efficiency and accelerate game and esports development. Moreover, SEHA Virtual Hospital conducted a clinical study validating the AI platform iSelfie.ai, which analyzes smartphone selfies to measure vital signs and detect early markers of heart and chronic diseases.
The Saudi market hosts a comprehensive ecosystem of global and regional AI companies. Global heavyweights include Microsoft, NVIDIA, IBM, Oracle, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Intel, Google, SAS Institute, and Meta, operating alongside prominent Saudi and regional firms such as Lucidya, Mozn.ai, HUMAIN, Lisan, Elevatus, and Deep.SA.
Microsoft currently leads the vendor assessment matrix in the Saudi market through its Azure AI ecosystem and Copilot services, while Oracle has solidified its position as a major competitor by expanding its OCI AI platform and developing generative AI solutions.
In recent developments highlighted by the study, AWS announced a partnership in November 2025 with the PIF-owned company HUMAIN to provision and manage up to 150,000 AI accelerators within an AI zone in Riyadh. Furthermore, the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) signed seven strategic agreements with global tech firms to fortify data infrastructure and accelerate AI adoption. Additional massive investments include Salesforce's $500 million AI investment plan in the Kingdom and Groq's $1.5 billion investment commitment to expand the deployment of its specialized AI inference chips in the Saudi market.
The report concludes that Saudi Arabia is on track to become one of the world's most critical AI markets in the coming years, uniquely combining massive government backing, advanced digital infrastructure, and visionary mega-projects to cement its status as a global hub for technological innovation.
