ITIDA, DXC Technology Launch Dandelion Program to Bring Neurodivergent Talent into Tech
The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and DXC Technology are launching the first round of Dandelion Program, an initiative designed to train and empower neurodivergent individuals for careers in the technology sector, reaffirming their commitment to digital inclusion and equal opportunity in the workforce.
The program builds on DXC's globally proven Dandelion model, launched in 2014. It has successfully expanded across multiple countries, including Australia, the UK, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, and the Philippines, with Egypt marking its latest chapter.
The initiative aims to train up to 60 participants under the age of 30, drawn from graduates and final-year students in STEM fields or equivalent disciplines, who are on the autism spectrum or live with ADHD, dyslexia, or other neurodivergent conditions, and who have a foundational interest or background in IT.
Over nine months, participants will follow a fully integrated training and career pathway built around six core pillars: specialized technical skills development, professional confidence and career awareness, comprehensive wraparound support, hands-on experience through real-world applications, self-advocacy and independence skills, and clearly defined employment pathways, including direct opportunities with DXC Technology and its partners.
The Egyptian Advance Society for Persons with Autism and Other Disabilities (Advance) serves as the program's technical advisor, contributing its expertise in participant preparation and development through internationally validated, evidence-based methodologies.
At its core, the program seeks to bridge the gap between the demands of the digital economy and the distinctive strengths that neurodivergent individuals bring to the table, among them sharp analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, and a natural aptitude for pattern recognition. In doing so, it aims to sharpen the competitive edge of Egypt's IT sector and cement its reputation as a world-class hub for digital talent.
