NilePreneurs Business Development Centers Deliver Over 1.16 Million Non-Financial Services
The Business Development Services (BDS) Centers operating under the Central Bank of Egypt’s NilePreneurs Initiative have delivered more than 1.16 million non-financial and advisory services to approximately 502,000 clients between 2020 and 2025. Beneficiaries included youth, entrepreneurs, startup founders, and owners of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), among them 210,000 women and female entrepreneurs.
In a statement, the Central Bank of Egypt said that the centers also facilitated access to financing totaling EGP 19 billion for more than 14,000 projects, in cooperation with 18 banks. This was achieved through the provision of integrated advisory services aimed at qualifying business owners to obtain appropriate financing and strengthening their capacity for growth and competitiveness.
The statement highlighted a significant expansion in the centers’ activities during the period, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 135% in the number of services provided, while the number of clients recorded annual growth of around 125%. This growth was supported by geographic expansion, with the number of centers reaching 132 locations across 25 governorates nationwide.
These efforts are part of the Central Bank of Egypt’s broader strategy to support entrepreneurs and MSMEs by encouraging banks to expand the provision of non-financial and advisory services and promoting the transition of informal businesses into the formal economy, in line with sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030 for inclusive economic empowerment.
The Business Development Centers offer a comprehensive range of free non-financial and advisory services, including support in selecting viable business ideas, company establishment and registration, licensing procedures, feasibility studies, financial analysis and evaluation, preparation of credit files, access to financing information, supplier linkages, market access, as well as training and capacity-building programs.
Entrepreneurs and business owners can benefit from these services at no cost by visiting BDS Centers located in bank branches, youth centers, and universities across various governorates, or by consulting the centers’ websites to find nearby locations.
