Orange Money Champions Digital Financial Inclusion at UNDP Forum

Orange Jordan announced that its Orange Money e-wallet sponsored the Digital Payments Forum hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Central Bank of Jordan and the Better Than Cash Alliance, with the participation of 10 leading financial and technology service providers. This initiative is part of efforts to support digital financial inclusion and accelerate the adoption of fintech solutions across the Kingdom.

During the forum, held in the Suweima area of the Dead Sea, Orange Money highlighted its pivotal role in advancing digital financial inclusion and integrating financial technology within sustainable development pathways. These objectives were central to the forum’s programs, which focused on empowering women, farmers, and small-scale producers in Jordan.

Orange Jordan emphasized the forum’s alignment with the National Financial Inclusion Strategy and the country’s economic modernization vision. The company showcased Orange Money as a key tool for achieving sustainable development goals, reaffirming its commitment to generating a positive social impact by promoting financial inclusion, particularly in remote, rural, and agricultural communities. These initiatives facilitate financial management, support economic independence, and strengthen local business development.

The forum brought together 100 participants from the municipalities of Suweima, Deir Alla, Tabaqat Fahl, and Sharhabil Bin Hassneh, including 65 women entrepreneurs, farmers, and community activists. Discussions focused on supporting these groups in rural and agricultural communities, while highlighting secure, accessible, and responsible digital payment solutions. Such solutions enhance digital financial literacy and empower participants to play a central role in Jordan’s economy.
