Egyptian Engineering Exports Hit Historic $6.5 Billion in 2025

Egypt’s engineering exports achieved record-breaking performance in 2025, reaching $6.5 billion, up 13% from $5.7 billion in 2024, marking the highest export value in the sector’s history, according to the Engineering Export Council of Egypt.

December 2025 alone recorded an unprecedented monthly increase of 18% year-on-year, reaching $620.6 million, the highest monthly figure ever for Egyptian engineering exports.

Eng. Sherif El-Sayyad, Chairman of the Engineering Export Council, stated that these results reflect successful collaboration between exporters, the council, and government entities, highlighting the sector’s ability to overcome global challenges and achieve historic growth.

Key sectors driving this growth include machinery and equipment (+30%), electrical and electronic industries (+23%), automotive components (+15%), household appliances (+15%), transportation equipment (+14%), and metals (+273%).

Exports expanded across European markets such as Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Turkey; Arab countries including Iraq, Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, and Syria; African markets like Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Senegal, and Zimbabwe; as well as Asian and American markets, with strong performance in China, Azerbaijan, and the United States.

The council aims to build on these achievements in 2026 by opening new markets, enhancing local manufacturing, and increasing the value added of exports to boost the national economy and foreign currency inflows.

A press conference is scheduled for February 2, 2026, where the council will announce detailed sectoral performance and the roadmap for exports through 2030.
