Egypt Prepares for the 9th Annual Capital Markets Summit on FinTech and Investment Inclusion

Egypt’s capital markets are preparing to host the 9th Annual Capital Markets Summit, organized by Media Avenue, on February 3, 2026, under the theme “FinTech: The Path to Investment Inclusion.”

The summit comes at a pivotal moment for Egypt’s financial sector, which is undergoing rapid structural transformation driven by technological innovation, evolving investment behaviors, and changing market dynamics.

This year’s event will feature high-level participation from government ministers, alongside senior representatives from the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), opening a comprehensive dialogue on the role of financial technology in reshaping Egypt’s capital markets.

Discussions will focus on enhancing trading efficiency, expanding the investor base, and strengthening investment inclusion, contributing to a more dynamic, transparent, and future-ready financial ecosystem.

Deals, Listings, and Market Development

The summit’s first core axis will address mergers, acquisitions, and initial public offerings (IPOs), amid improving economic indicators and greater stability in the foreign exchange market.

Key sessions will examine the potential launch of a new deal cycle, differences between defensive and expansion-driven transactions, corporate valuation attractiveness, and the renewed momentum behind IPO activity. Participants will also assess the impact of listings on market liquidity and investor confidence.

In addition, the summit will review derivatives market experiences across Arab exchanges, highlighting their role in risk management and market deepening, while extracting regulatory and operational lessons applicable to the Egyptian market.

FinTech as a Structural Driver

FinTech will take center stage as a fundamental driver of capital market transformation. Discussions will explore digital infrastructure development, smart trading platforms, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in accelerating execution, reducing costs, and enhancing transparency.

The summit will also examine how financial technology can attract new investor segments, while addressing regulatory challenges and the need to strike a balance between innovation, investor protection, and market stability.

Additional tracks will focus on the future of capital markets and the insurance sector, including the role of insurance in boosting long-term savings and institutional investment, as well as the impact of digital transformation on insurance business models and customer experience.

Another key axis will spotlight innovative financing instruments, including real estate investment funds, gold and precious metals funds, crowdfunding models, and sukuk, with discussions centered on regulatory frameworks required to link capital markets more effectively with the real economy.

The 9th Capital Markets Summit reflects ongoing efforts to modernize Egypt’s financial markets, deepen their developmental role, and promote investment inclusion in line with the accelerating digital transformation and the growing importance of FinTech as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth.
