Fresh Electric Celebrates Graduation of First Cohort from Fresh International Applied Technology School
Fresh Electric, a leading manufacturer and exporter of home appliances, has celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of students from the Fresh International Applied Technology School, marking a significant milestone in Egypt’s applied technical education landscape and highlighting a successful model of cooperation between the state and the industrial sector to develop a highly skilled workforce aligned with labor market needs.
The inaugural graduating class comprises nearly 200 students. The ceremony was attended by Eng. Lobna Abdel Aziz, Vice Governor of Sharqia; MP Ahmed Mohamed Helmy; Dr. Shaimaa Mamdouh, Deputy Head of the Applied Technology Schools Management and Operation Unit; alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and Fresh Electric’s executive leadership. The broad participation underscored the strategic importance of this educational model in supporting national industry and building qualified human capital in line with international standards.

Founded in 2022, the Fresh International Applied Technology School was established through a partnership between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Fresh Electric, and the Egypt Workforce Development Project funded by USAID. The school operates within the national Applied Technology Schools framework, which aims to directly link technical education with real-world industrial requirements.

The school is located in New 10th of Ramadan City in Sharqia Governorate, spanning approximately 15,000 square meters in the heart of one of Egypt’s largest industrial zones. This strategic location provides students with an integrated learning and training environment embedded within an active industrial ecosystem.
It offers a range of advanced technical specializations critical to modern manufacturing, including plastic mold manufacturing and maintenance, sheet metal mold manufacturing and maintenance, and metal injection technologies. Notably, the school provides an academic and applied specialization in mold and die manufacturing and maintenance, a rare discipline, making it the first institution of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East to deliver this specialty in a fully integrated educational model.
The school’s academic system combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practical training. Students study core and specialized subjects using accredited curricula, alongside on-the-job training across more than eight Fresh Electric factories in 10th of Ramadan City. This approach enables students to apply their knowledge directly on production lines, gain real industrial experience, and graduate fully prepared to enter the labor market without the need for additional training programs.
During the graduation ceremony, Eng. Khalil Ibrahim, Co-Founder of Fresh Electric, described the event as a defining moment for the company and the school. “Today, a dream that began years ago has become a reality. From the very beginning, we believed that strong industry depends on skilled labor - not only by attracting it, but by training and qualifying it to the highest standards,” he said.
Ibrahim noted that since its establishment in 1987, Fresh Electric has operated with a clear vision centered on delivering innovative, high-quality products at competitive prices. Over the years, the company has evolved into a trusted Egyptian brand exporting to more than 60 countries worldwide.
He added that by 2026, Fresh Electric’s workforce has exceeded 13,000 employees, with production spanning more than 70 products across over 15 factories, including both feeder and direct manufacturing facilities. These cover a wide range of home appliances, such as cookers, washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners.
According to Ibrahim, the growing need for highly skilled technical labor - particularly in mold and die manufacturing - was a key driver behind establishing the school. “We saw it as our responsibility not only to create jobs, but to build well-trained technical cadres that serve the entire Egyptian industrial sector, not just Fresh factories,” he stated.
The Fresh co-founder praised the close and constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Applied Technology Schools Unit, emphasizing that institutional support was instrumental to the project’s success, especially given the introduction of a specialization unprecedented in the region. He also extended his appreciation to the students and graduates for their commitment and hard work, expressing aspirations to expand the applied technology schools model to further support national industry and create sustainable employment opportunities for young people.
Graduates of the Fresh International Applied Technology School gain access to multiple career and educational pathways, including employment in plastic, metal, and sheet metal mold manufacturing facilities; industrial mold maintenance roles; freelance technical work in engineering manufacturing fields; and continued education at specialized technological institutes and colleges.
The Fresh International Applied Technology School stands as a modern model of technical education that integrates global quality standards with local market needs, reinforcing the principle that strong partnerships between education and industry represent the fastest route to building a workforce capable of supporting national economic growth and achieving sustainable development.
