Egypt’s Foreign Minister Directs Swift Launch of “Overseas Banking Data Update” Initiative for Egyptians Abroad

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, has instructed the rapid launch and implementation of the “Overseas Banking Data Update” initiative, as part of a broader package of measures aimed at facilitating services for Egyptians living abroad and strengthening engagement with expatriate communities.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized its ongoing commitment to closely monitoring the conditions and needs of Egyptians abroad, intensifying communication with them, and responding swiftly to their requests and concerns. This approach aligns with government directives to ensure comprehensive care for expatriate citizens, reinforce their ties with the homeland, and streamline their administrative procedures.

The statement noted that the ministry continues to follow up on a wide range of issues affecting Egyptians overseas, including access to services coordinated with relevant authorities, employment and higher education matters, secondments, and proposals for developing dedicated initiatives.

The minister also directed Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Egyptians Abroad, to ensure precise implementation of initiatives launched over the past year, address challenges encountered during execution, and study the rollout of new phases for existing programs such as “Your Home in Egypt” and “Open Your Account in Egypt.”
