B.TECH Chosen as Global Capstone Project Partner by Harvard Business School

B.TECH, Egypt’s leading omnichannel retailer of consumer electronics and home appliances, has been selected as a Global Capstone Project Partner for Harvard Business School’s (HBS) prestigious FIELD Global Capstone program. As part of this collaboration, B.TECH hosted a team of MBA students from HBS in Cairo for a week-long immersive project aimed at exploring innovative business solutions and enhancing customer experience strategies.

B.TECH was among 156 project partners across 14 cities in 14 countries, collectively hosting more than 900 MBA students from Harvard Business School. In Egypt, B.TECH was one of only 11 companies selected for this elite partnership. The FIELD Global Capstone spans eight months, beginning with project development, virtual collaboration, and market research, culminating in an intensive on-site visit.

Long before the students set foot in Cairo, B.TECH laid the groundwork through early coordination with HBS faculty. A dedicated sponsor from B.TECH was assigned to steer the collaboration, and regular virtual meetings were held to align objectives, exchange insights, and ensure mutual understanding of the market dynamics and business context.

"This collaboration and our selection as a global partner for Harvard Business School’s FIELD Program is a testament to B.TECH’s commitment to innovation and excellence," said Mahmoud Khattab, Chairman and CEO of B.TECH. "Partnering with some of the brightest minds in global business education offers us invaluable insights and a fresh perspective. Together, we’re reimagining customer experiences and setting new industry benchmarks."

The FIELD Global Capstone is designed to develop students’ ability to operate effectively across diverse business environments. In preparation for their visit, the students worked remotely with B.TECH executives for several months. During their time in Cairo, they pitched ideas to the leadership team, conducted field research in B.TECH retail locations, explored the company’s new financial platform “mylo,” and delivered final recommendations to senior management.

B.TECH also facilitated access to industry data and customer insights, enabling the students to refine their solutions. A highlight of the visit was the students’ in-depth exploration of “B.TECH MAX,” the company’s newly launched concept store, offering a full immersion into B.TECH’s evolving retail experience.

Harvard Business School emphasized the value of its partner organizations in making this program possible.

“We are extremely grateful to B.TECH and all the FIELD Global Capstone Project Partner organizations for all they do on behalf of our students,” said Professor Joe Fuller, Faculty Chair for the FIELD Global Capstone. “The students benefit immeasurably from this experience, and we hope the partner organizations do as well.”
