inDrive is expanding its community investment in Egypt through a new education programme designed to give children of its drivers greater access to artificial intelligence and digital technology skills.

The global mobility and delivery platform is working with Misr El Kheir Foundation and Tech Valley, a Google educational partner, to reach 1,000 children through a programme combining technology education, practical learning and community engagement.

The initiative is part of inDrive's broader effort to support the families connected to its platform and help younger generations prepare for a future increasingly shaped by digital technologies.

A Partnership Focused on Future-Ready Skills

Alaa El Din Shalaby, Country Manager at inDrive Egypt, said supporting drivers' families is an important part of the company's commitment to the communities it serves.

He said the programme is intended to help children develop the ability to think creatively, solve problems and use technology as a tool for creating solutions. The collaboration with Misr El Kheir and Tech Valley will support wider access to AI and technology education.

Dr. Nagwa El-Sayed, Head of the Scientific Research Sector at Misr El Kheir Foundation, highlighted the role of cooperation between the private sector and civil society in making quality technology education more widely available.

She said the programme will help children build practical knowledge in AI and digital technologies while developing innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Umar Farooq, Founder and CEO of Tech Valley, described the programme, “Rihla Raqmiya,” as a meeting point between the organisations’ objectives of expanding access to AI education and digital safety.

Farooq said Tech Valley has previously worked with more than 2,000 institutions and empowered over 500,000 individuals in Pakistan. In Egypt, the company will deliver Google's curriculum to 600 children through live Arabic-language classes.

Extending the Results of Earlier Collaboration

The latest programme follows an earlier digital literacy project implemented by inDrive and Misr El Kheir in 2026.

Completed in April after four months of training, the programme reached 327 students aged 9 to 16 in Cairo, Fayoum and Sohag. It introduced them to Scratch and Python programming, as well as practical uses of artificial intelligence.

The project also included training for 30 local facilitators, helping build community-level capacity to continue supporting digital education.

Passenger participation has also contributed to the wider effort. Through inDrive MAX, users were able to donate coins earned from their platform activity to help finance additional educational places for children. The contributions supported the broader programme developed by Misr El Kheir and Tech Valley.

Combining Digital and Classroom Learning

The new initiative will use both face-to-face teaching and online learning to broaden access to technology education. Children will have opportunities to explore programming, artificial intelligence and innovation while developing skills that can support their future education and careers.

For inDrive, the programme represents another step in directing community investment towards drivers and their families, with a focus on helping children gain the practical knowledge and confidence needed to engage with emerging technologies.
