Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi inaugurated the ninth edition of DevOpsDays Cairo 2026, held under the theme “Sustainable DevOps Practices in the Age of Agentic AI.”

Organized by the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the conference brings together software engineering, IT infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity experts from Egypt and around the world.

The event focuses on how Agentic AI is transforming software development and IT operations, including coding, testing, performance analysis, automation, and decision-making. Discussions also address human oversight, cybersecurity, computing resources, energy consumption, governance, and operational reliability.

Hindi highlighted the role of Egypt’s technology talent in supporting the country’s digital transformation, noting that around 200,000 specialists are currently engaged in exporting digital services from Egypt to global markets.

He also pointed to the growing importance of DevOps in developing reliable and scalable digital services, while highlighting Egypt’s efforts to strengthen its technological capabilities through locally developed AI solutions.

ITIDA CEO Ahmed Elzaher said the ninth edition features 66 speakers, including 13 international speakers from nine countries. He noted that the rapid development of Agentic AI is reshaping software development and operations, creating a need for updated methodologies, governance frameworks, cybersecurity measures, and specialized skills.

The conference program features four main tracks covering cost and environmental sustainability, human sustainability and governance, security and reliability, and tools and infrastructure. It also includes three panel discussions and three specialized workshops focused on practical applications of DevOps and AI.

The event will conclude with the announcement of the winners of a competition focused on using DevOps and AI to accelerate automation and innovation. A total of 142 teams participated, with 20 teams advancing to the final stage, including 10 student teams and 10 teams of graduates and professionals.
