Egypt-Saudi Trade Exchange Rises 19.7% to $7.1 Billion in H1 2026

Egypt’s trade exchange with Saudi Arabia increased by 19.7% during the first half of 2026, reaching $7.1 billion, compared with $5.9 billion during the same period in 2025, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia rose to $1.8 billion in the first half of 2026, up from $1.5 billion during the same period in 2025, marking a 20.5% increase.

Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from Saudi Arabia reached $5.3 billion, compared with $4.4 billion in the first half of 2025, representing an increase of 19.4%.

Egypt’s Top Exported Commodity Groups to Saudi Arabia

The main commodity groups exported by Egypt to Saudi Arabia during the first half of 2026 included:

- Copper and articles thereof: $246.5 million.

- Electrical machinery, equipment and appliances: $215.9 million.

- Fruits: $180.6 million.

- Mineral fuels, oils and distillation products: $157.6 million.

- Clothing: $78.2 million.

Egypt’s Top Imports from Saudi Arabia

The main commodity groups imported by Egypt from Saudi Arabia during the first half of 2026 were:

- Mineral fuels, oils and distillation products: $4 billion.

- Plastics and articles thereof: $719.8 million.

- Aluminum and articles thereof: $174.2 million.

- Paper: $63.5 million.

- Fruits: $11.9 million.

Saudi investments in Egypt reached $532.2 million during the first half of fiscal year 2025/2026, compared with $532 million during the same period of fiscal year 2024/2025.

Remittances from Egyptians working in Saudi Arabia rose to $12 billion during fiscal year 2024/2025, compared with $8 billion in fiscal year 2023/2024, marking a 50.6% increase.

Meanwhile, remittances from Saudi nationals working in Egypt reached $125.1 million in fiscal year 2024/2025, compared with $11.6 million in fiscal year 2023/2024, representing a sharp increase of 980%.
